Heavy metal, humour, and haberdashery for Spotify Podcasts
Brief: Create and produce a concept for digital promotional material for the launch of the comedian Ed Gamble's heavy metal podcast 'Lifers' on Spotify.
As a fan of Ed Gamble's comedy and as a life-long metalhead myself, I jumped at the chance to work on this project.
Having built a strong relationship with the client over the years, they trusted us with almost free reign to come up with an attention-grabbing concept for the digital advertising campaign. So armed with a small budget and the knowledge that the talent was open-minded and a good laugh, we started at the most absurd and outrageous ideas and worked our way back from there.
Consequently, I have a lot of respect and admiration for everyone involved in the sign-off process who saw a gimp mask and said 'why not?', and I agree with Ed in saying that this was my dream photo shoot too.
